General Operation
The system is focused on self-management. Administration is done through a web administrator, and you can publish directly from the QGIS software. Upon opening the page, you can log in by entering your username and password to access the administrator.

Geoportal Administrator Home Page
Once inside, this is how the administrator home page of the geoportal application looks. Each entry corresponds to different functions that can be performed, such as creating new categories, new layers, creating WMS services, loading layers, user management, etc., which will be explained in more detail later.
Next to each function, there are two main actions that can be performed: adding new layers or data and modifying existing ones.
Furthermore, on the side, there is a box showing the history of recent actions performed by users or administrators.
Information
The structure of the geoportal management application has been fully implemented with open-source software.
Main Features
To access the functions, there are two ways to do it: by clicking on the item you want to work with or through the Modify icon. In both cases, it will redirect you to the same page, which generally has the following appearance. This is an example related to GeoJSON layers, but in general, all have the same design.
Breadcrumb
At the top of each window, you will see the breadcrumb or breadcrumb navigation. It is a type of secondary navigation within a website. It offers users of the portal administration the option, in the form of internal links, to quickly return to the main page or some other level of the application. Thanks to the breadcrumb, the user can reconstruct which page they visited previously. This type of navigation is usually hierarchically structured and shows the path from the home page to the current position.
Search Tool
To search for layers or data by name or attributes.
In the top right, there are two elements in the application design that are generally present in most functions.
Add New Item
On one hand, there is the option to add a new item.
Filters
On the other hand, there is the filters tool, which is used to filter the data displayed in the initial table by categories, whether the layer is active in the geoportal or not, etc.
Main List
For the visualization of layers, data, or elements. These can be sorted by name, title, or the item that appears in the header. They can be sorted by one or more fields.
Selection
To manage the layers that appear in the main list, there is the option to select them according to interest and apply an action, which is usually deleting the selected items or refreshing them, etc.
- You can select the item individually or in groups manually and apply the action.
- You can select a group of elements by selecting all the fields of that page automatically by selecting the entire column from the name.
- In this case, only all the elements on the first page have been selected.
To select all the elements from all pages, at the top of the table, there is the option to select all elements from all pages, and once done, the desired action can be applied.
Finally, generally when entering the tab to modify each item, at the bottom of each page, there are basic functions such as:
- Delete the item being modified or edited.
- Save and add new item
- Save and continue editing
- Save
